I finally watched AVATAR in 3D this past weekend and I have to say, I loved it! I need to watch it again before the movie goes off the big screen! If you’re thinking about waiting for it on DVD or watching a bootleg version, I advise you not to. This movie needs to be watched in full effect, 3D for sure!
James Cameron has been developing this movie since after Titanic in 1997, that’s 12 years! Why did it take so long? At the time he wanted to make the movie there were technical difficulties that got in the way of his vision. According to the Daily Mail, for the movie, he co-developed a new generation of stereoscopic cameras. Simplified, this is the equivalent of two cameras strapped together, each providing a slightly different perspective on the scene, mimicking the way human eyes view the world in three dimensions. I’m not going to get too geeky because I can and will, so you’ll just have to watch it yourself.
I was already impressed once I heard that, so I knew it was a must see movie plus all his movies are good. The movie was beyond fascinating, brings the mind into a magical world and it made me want to go there. At first the blue skin Na’vi aliens looked weird, but after a while of looking at them they started to look beautiful especially when the skin sparkles at night. The storyline follows the future battle between Earth and Pandora, a ‘terrifyingly beautiful’ world full of strange creatures and rich minerals. The love story between Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) was beautiful.
AVATAR is definitely nothing you’ve seen before!
