Movies to see in a lifetime

This is a short list of movies that are close to my heart for different reasons. For me they are timeles and I warmly recommend them. I'll try to write once in a while posts with my all time favorite movies, becouse I enjoy watching movies a lot and have a very long list of favorites.

"Life is like a box of chocolates... you never know what you're gonna get."

The day I met my husband, he wore a t-shirt that said: "Stupid is as stupid does!", which was Forest's favorite remark. So, beside being a great movie it became special to me maybe for this reason too, and maybe this is why it is on top of my list. After a short while  I saw the movie and it became my all time favorite. The world will never be the same once you've seen it through the eyes of Forrest Gump.

"At least you'll never be a vegetable - even artichokes have hearts."

Amelie, an innocent and naive girl in Paris, with her own sense of justice, decides to help those around her and along the way, discovers love. Like Forest, Amelie has her own way of seeing the world and her own ways of dealing with things. She likes to look for things no one else catches. I love Amelie for her ingenuity, cuteness, selflessness and sence of adventure.

"Buon giorno, Principessa!"

An unforgettable fable that proves love, family and imagination conquer all. This is the most wonderful story about love, courage, inner strength, a father's struggle to protect his child and the power to treat tragic situation with humor and hope. This is one of the movies I have cried a river.

"Sometimes The Simplest Idea Can Make The Biggest Difference."

Pay It Forward is a prime example of what films are supposed to do: make you laugh a little, cry a lot, and profoundly affect you in a way that keeps you thinking about the movie for weeks afterwards. It is not only a moving, inspiring and heart driven story but everybody who sees this film stops for a moment or more and think over the meaning of life.  Have a box of tissues handy. Or two.

"Stealin' Stones and Breakin' Bones "

Unscrupulous boxing promoters, violent bookmakers, a Russian gangster, incompetent amateur robbers, and supposedly Jewish jewelers fight to track down a priceless stolen diamond. This movie is smart, funny and has just the right touches of dark humour. The cast is great, top class actors, great performance, especially Pitt's, which was brilliant. I really love the way it was filmed and that every single actor in `Snatch' looks like they are having one hell of a good time working in the film. This story, while complex and with many ramifications from the core plot is absolutely brilliant and a lot of fun.

"71% of the Earth's surface is covered by water. That's a lot of space to find one fish."

I am Nemo's no. 1 Fan! I really am! I love animated motion pictures in general, but Nemo has a special place in my top; and in my heart.
It's a brilliantly animated masterpiece with lots of humor and a plot that really brings tears to your eyes from time to time. There are 3.7 trillion fish in the ocean and they're looking for one. For Nemo. No matter if you're 9 or 99 years old, Finding Nemo will bring a smile on your face and leave behind a warm feeling in your heart.

Battle of the great: Rykiel vs. Missoni

"The angora" and "the knitted". Let the battle begin!

Sonia Rykiel kept things from getting too Madonna in Music mode were lush, bone-colored angora coats as well as intarsia and ruffled knit dresses with an easy charm.

Missoni - Mining the house archives, Angela Missoni zeroed in on—what else?—knitwear, and there wasn't a simple twinset in the bunch. Instead, she whipped the signature flames and zigzags into crisscross dresses topping fine-gauge turtlenecks; matching sweaters and minis.

Wedding foto album - take 2

This is the second set of photos that we took for the wedding album. It was by night, in the center of our hometown, in front of the theater and the (artesian) fountain. I was a little frowning because of the spotlight.

Weekends don't count unless you spend them doing something completely pointless

This weekend was about doing nothing at all. After a crazy Saturday night in the club, the Sunday was mostly about hanging home, watching TV, listening to music and relaxing.

Saturday afternoon we went to see a movie at the cinema. 2012. A week after premiere the reservation list was still full. We finally got to see it. Great cast, great stunnings and special effects, great story.

The film briefly references Mayanism, the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar, and the 2012 phenomenon in its portrayal of cataclysmic events unfolding in the year 2012. Due to solar flare bombardment the Earth's core begins heating up at an unprecedented rate. This results in a series of Doomsday event scenarios plunging the world into chaos, such as California falling into the Pacific Ocean, the eruption of the Yellowstone National Park caldera, shifting of the continents by crustal displacement, and Megatsunami impacts along every coast line on the Earth. The film centers around an ensemble cast of characters as they narrowly escape multiple catastrophes in an effort to reach ships in the Himalayas, along with scientists and governments of the world who are attempting to save as many lives as they can before the disasters.

Very pessimistic events yet very optimistic at the end, like all the movies of this type. So some of us still have a chance to survive. God bless America for its heroes, for saving the day, for saving the human kind and for giving us such great movies!

I don't even want to think about such a real scenery. If this is meant to happen I prefer to live my life slowly and ignorant and happy in my pretty little universe.

I'd rather think about the winter holidays than of the end of the world, and I am looking forward to see Jim Carrey's "A Christmas Carol".

The Super Models

These women are supermodels! They were models for so many years and their incredible bodies and beauty gives them the opportunity to still be in the business. On the other hand, they are super because, in such a busy life of theirs they got the strength and time to have a family, kids, a business of their own and still be on top of the lists of advertising or modelling campaigns.

I admire them for getting old so beautifully and for being not only o fashion model, but a role-model for younger generations.

These are a few of their secrets for looking absolutely wonderful.

The Danish stunner, 40, Helena Christensen may have made her mark in front of the camera, but now she's more likely to be seen behind it, having shot campaigns for Edun and Aveda.

Must-have product "Nude Miracle Mask really is miraculous. It makes your skin look tight and glowing."

Go-to facialist: She entrusts her luminous complexion to Christine Chin, owner of New York City's Christine Chin Spa. "After I get the microdermabrasion and a green-tea facial, my skin feels unbelievably soft and dewy."

Having graced more than a thousand magazine covers, Crawford, 43, knows a few beauty tricks.

Antiaging tip: "Women forget to take care of their décolletage, and it shows their age," says Crawford. She protects hers, as well as her complexion, with Meaningful Beauty, the skin-care line she created with Jean-Louis Sebagh, a Paris-based cosmetic doctor.

Must-have hair product: "Your hair texture changes as you age; mine used to be a lot more smooth. I use Moroccanoil Treatment to keep it hydrated."

Schiffer became a household name 20 years ago as the face of Guess, and now, at 39, the current L'Oréal Paris spokesmodel and face of D&G fragrance shows no signs of slowing down.

Antiaging tip: "What I eat affects my skin," she says. "Anything that's heavy, like dairy or sweets, breaks out my complexion, and it doesn't look as fresh. When I stopped eating dairy, my skin looked nicer."

Skin saver: "Fresh carrot or apple juice and water with lemon and ginger help give my skin a healthy look."

Transitioning from modeling to acting isn't the only big change in Amber Valletta's life these days. "My skin has become much more sensitive to products," says the 35-year-old mom. "I now have to be more diligent about what I use."

Skin tip: SPF is a must. "I live in California, so I wear sunscreen every day, even if it's cloudy."

Beauty indulgence: "I love products." Her current facial regimen includes items from Epicuren, Dermalogica, and LancerRX, a line by her Beverly Hills dermatologist, Harold Lancer.

At 35, Harlow still fronts some of the biggest campaigns, including Chanel skin care.

At-home secret: "I love putting yogurt and egg whites on my face. It's so moisturizing and soothing."

Skin expert: After working under hot lights with layers of makeup on all day, she turns to facialist Elena Schell, owner of the Elena Schell Skin Care Clinic in New York City. "When she performs extractions, she doesn't leave a single mark."

In 1993, the German model Nadia Auermann became a sensation with her striking platinum locks and legs that seemed to go on forever.

Beauty philosophy: "I think women look best when they're natural," says Auermann, 38. "With makeup, I always find it's better to concentrate on one part, like your eyes or lips."

Favorite colorist: That signature blonde takes a bit of work. "I tried four or five colorists before I found Mandy at Vidal Sassoon in Berlin. Without her, my life would be difficult."

Mauve Passion

This week was mostly about purple, violet, mauve, lavender, neon and blue! You can call me a girl of many moods, when it concerns the weather. Although it is almost winter, almost raining daily and cold as hell, and people tend to wear as much black and dark brown, I refuse to align. These paste few days I had the MPS (Mauve Passion Syndrome). I like to use colors in my outfit, and even if I have my 'black days' I make use of the contrast effect.

Cloudy Monday - "I only wanted 2 see u laughing in the purple rain"

Polo Garage Jeans, Mango blouse, Bershka top, H&M scarf, AG boots

Wednesday - “This donut has purple in the middle, purple is a fruit.”

Friday - “I think it pisses God off if you walk by the color purple in a field somewhere and don't notice it.”
