This classic English treat, consisting of thick cream, meringue and berries crushed together, makes a perfect picnic pudding as it is easy to transport the separate ingredients and assemble them on site
200 g meringues
250 g raspberries
250 g small strawberries or wild strawberries, hulled, or red or white currants, de-stalked
300 g clotted cream or crème fraîche
200 ml thick Greek yoghurt
Strawberry leaves and flowers to decorate (optional)
Crush the meringues with some of the berries in a large bowl. Stir in the cream and the yoghurt. Place the remaining ingredients on top and stir gently before spooning into serving dishes.
Decorate if liked.
