Carnevale di Venezia

The day they got married, Claudia and Petre surprised us with these gorgeous venetian masks, that were made specially for Liviu and I, for the photo session in the park. We could not wait for the ones taken by the photographer and we photo shoot each other in the back yard. Aren't they wonderful? I just love them! So venetian like, so misterious, so theatrical.

I am looking forward to see the ones from the wedding!

When Carnival first began it was celebrated from December 26 and reached its climax the day before Ash Wednesday, also known as "Mardi Gras". During the period of Carnival it seems that every excess was permitted and the fact that everyone wore masks seemed to abolish all social division. All the campi were thronged with people intent on partying and carousing, singing, dancing and playing games. 

The most common costume (the baùtta) was composed of a black silk hood, a lace cape, a voluminous cloak (the tabarro), and a three-cornered hat and a white mask that completely covered the wearer's face. This allowed revelers to go around the city incognito. It was useful to go to casini, places where you could play games of chance.

Since 1980 the celebration of Carnival in Venice has gained popularity. People come from the world over to attend private and public masked balls and masked revelers of all ages invade the campi where music and dancing continues nearly day and night. Theatrical performances and an array of ancient games are organized for the amusement of Venetians and visitors alike.

Braided hair

I love braided hair! Glamorous or casual!

If your hair is long enough for a braided hair style, you shouldn’t be afraid to wear it. Braided hair can be functional as well as flattering, and can serve you well in a wide variety of situations.

This basic braid look doesn’t require a ton of time or a mess of equipment—all you need are a handful of flat bobby pins, a couple of ponytail holders, and about ten minutes.

Claudia & The Bachelorette Party

Last Friday big night for Claudia. You remember her from previous posts. When she least expected we throw her a surprise Bachelorette Party. The bouquet, the gift and 10 girls ready to party ended up on this nice piano-bar with chill out music and exquisite cocktails just for warming up and two hours later in my favorite club - River Deck.

With the excuse of Claudia's make-up rehearsal for the wedding and mine, I drag her to Oana's place, who by the way is a very talented friend of ours that can make gorgeous make-ups (I am going to tell you in a later post more about her work), and 3 hours later with a very stupid reason of mine to call her in front of the building, there we were screaming like crazy "Surpriseeeee!"

She had absolutely no ideea,... that's the whole point, isn't it?!... and was so happy about everything.

I remember my Bachelorette Party just the night before the wedding, when exactly as Claudia, I had not even the smallest idea of what my friends were up to.

Well, Claudia, we, the girls, wish you all the best in your future life as a wife, a lawfully wedded wife, to take care of Petre, grow with him in mind and spirit, to be together in sickness and in health, in joy and in sorrow, as well as through the good times and the bad.  

Lets not get that melodramatic and remember the crazy time we had that night, at the  Bachelorette Party. Cheers!
