Wonderful memories were coming back to me when I saw these pictures. Before the wedding we had  photo sessions in different locations, by day and by night, for the wedding photo album, that were so much fun and great memories over time. These pictures were taken 2 or 3 days before in a very nice location near our home town, in the surroundings of a monastery. It was a beautiful September day, almost at sunset. Relaxed outfits, good mood, enthusiastic and very very happy and playful.

Battle of the great: Chloe vs Stella

For the second battle of the great I have chosen: Chloe and Stella McCartney, both young and chic-elegant.

For this pre-fall collection Chloé combined eighties references like sharp shoulders, big crystal beads, and bows with a more bourgie, horsey vibe. Most striking were the double-faced plaid-lined blanket capes and the carrot-legged suits.

Stella McCartney went wild for pre-fall, using feather, lizard, and zebra prints for short dresses and jumpsuits. Very up-to-the-moment collection, chic and versatile.

I speak Bio

In ultima vreme toata lumea vorbeste deste produse bio: mancare Bio, cosmetice Bio, detergenti Bio, stil de viata Bio. Ce atata bio dom'le? De ce sunt atat de bune produsele Bio si de ce ar trebui sa le consumam sau sa le eliminam pe cele traditionale, cele cu care ne-am obisnuit si le folosim de-o viata?

Ei bine o sa va spun de ce le consum eu. Aceste produse, fie că sunt alimente bio, produse cosmetice bio, de îngrijire bio, de curăţenie bio sau suplimente nutritive sunt compuse strict din plantele , din ingrediente organice, fără a fi modidficate genetic sau fără să li se fi adăugat alte produse chimice. Traseul acestor produse este unul foarte simplu: planta se cultivă pe terenuri pe care nu a fost aplicat nici un îngrăşământ chimic; planta culeasă este supusă macerării fără a i se aplica procedee chimice iar în ultima fază ele sunt ambalate fără conservanţi sau alţi substituienţi chimici.In plus semintele folosite NU sunt modificate genetic, ci controlate biologic.

Diferenţa dintre un produs obisnuit si un produs certificat Bio, o reprezintă tocmai etapele procesului de productie.

La noi în ţară magazinle alimentare bio sunt căutate din ce in ce mai mult. Asadar, se creaza o cerere de astfel de produse tot mai mare ceea ce va duce la o inmultire a magazinelor de tip Bio-Market, o diversificare a gamei de produse si o mai buna constientizare a publicului in ceea ce priveste produsele certificate Bio, deoarece nu orice produs pe care scrie Bio corespunde standardelor de incadrare in aceasta categorie.

Industria agricolă bio se supune unei legislaţii speciale pentru certificare. Motivul este conştientizarea efectelor nocive pe care îl au îngrăşămintele chimice şi insecticidele asupra organismului uman dealungul aniilor. În Germania, industria bio-organică este foarte dezvoltată, existând lanţuri de magazine-supermarket în care se pot procura astfel de produse eficiente pentru sănătate.

Eu m-am convins singura de calitatea acestor produse. Trebuie doar sa incerci ca sa vezi diferenta. Aveti grija insa la certificari. Asa cum am mai spus, nu orice produs pe care scrie Bio corespunde standardelor Bio.

Happiness is only real when shared

"Happiness is only real when shared" were the last words he wrote on that small piece of paper. Too small to cover the wisdom and greatness of the words.

I started my post with these words because yesterday we saw "Into the Wild", one of the best movies I have seen lately, screenwriting and directed by Sean Penn, after a true story. It is the story of Christopher McCandless, a 24-year-old Virginian and Emory graduate.

Shortly after graduation, Chris, a young man with a very promising future ahead, gives his life savings to charity, burns all of his identification, and he wanders out into the wild searching for adventure. Citing passages from his heroes, Thoreau and Jack London, he is determined to escape society and get back to nature. He blows from town to town like a tumbleweed, hopping trains, camping with aging hippies, working briefly with a farmer, and befriending a widowed leather worker .

What I liked most about this movie is the jurney. His eagerness to go into the wild, to live his life far from human prejudice and ipocrisy, free in the nature, reading meditating and the living life in all its beauty.

His jurney is incredible, the people he met on his way to Alaska were wonderful and his experiences he encounterd were ment to change his mind, but no one could alter his wish. The jurney is actualy impersonating his new life: BIRTH - when he decides to become Alexander Supertramp, ADOLESCENCE when he works in Texas, MANHOOD when he experiences Mexico, and so on....

It is a great movie about friendship, love, growing up, self-awareness and adventure.

Battle of the great: McQueen vs. Vuitton

Battle of the great is a series of posts about fashion trends and collection for fall/winter 2009-2010 that I have chosen to write about. For the first episode, I chose Alexander McQueen and Louis Vuitton.

I have always admired McQueen for his boldness and ability to shock and create the unpredictable. For this pre-fall collection he went a little easier on volumes and colors and I really like the elegant and confident type of women that inspired him.

As for the Vuitton collection, it is absolutely magnificent! I adore the way they combined Bordeaux and dark gray, both 'hard' colors and elegant. Big ruffle shirts and knee dresses along with the 60's elegant style of the hairdo and make-up as a whole with the clothes and accessories make this collection my personal favorite! Big brooches and hair accessories are my personal favorite for this season.

Alexander McQueen was all about country pursuits: a riding jacket, jodhpurs, shearling maxi skirts, and chunky hand knits. McQueen's skill as a cutter is beyond dispute!

Louis Vuitton - Pretty print day dresses and bustier-topped party looks were shown on models who wore their hair in Veronica Lake waves, accessorized with brooches made of wood, papier-mâché, and pearls, and sported beaded socks that alluded to 1940's hosiery shortages.

200 going forward ...

This is my 200th blog post !!

I was shocked to discover yesterday that this is to be my 200th blog post. Wow! It's been a year since I started Beau Bazar, and I really appreciate the awesome support and feedback that you guys gave me!

It all started when I decided to have my own playground. As the blog description itself says, it is a repository of fashion, perspectives, moods and ideas. It is about all and nothing, it is about things I love, things I do, clothes I wear, people I admire, music I hear and fashion I pine for.

This is how my blog traffic grew since November last year. This chart is a proof that what I do is good, what I write is interesting, what I pine for is shared by you, and this is the reason I keep on posting.

I was more than happy to share with you special moments of my life, birthdays, trips and holidays, my wedding, my honeymoon and more to come. I made friends and discovered great blogs worldwide and great people behind the keyboard that I admire for different reasons, and follow as much as I can. Overall, having Beau Bazar is part of my life and I enjoy it plenty!

Honeymoon Lookbook

When you go on vacation: do take the whole wardrobe with you or do you limit to a few pieces?

This is how I do it: Whenever I go on vacation I pack stuff that I am sure it's comfortable, easy to wear, easy to carry and loads of fun. When your luggage is the space you must pack as much as your wardrobe and you are aware of the fact that YOU will be the one carrying it, although you need a variety of outfits for all the places you’ll go, my advise is to limit to a few essential items.

Lay it out on the floor so that you can see everything or try them on in order to make sure you don't skip any key piece.

For our honeymoon in the Dominican Republic, where the weather is around 35 degrees Celsius with a pretty humid air, I could not pack otherwise. Beside the bathing suit and flip-flops I took the colorful fluid clothes that were according to the place, weather and activities.

A for the few days we spent in Madrid, on our way back, most of the clothes that I packed were suitable, as well.
