If you are one of the few :) followers of my blog you probably know by now that my style is most of the times smart-casual-effortless-chic. I like to feel good in my clothes. I don't buy stretch, synthetic, uncomfortable clothes just because it's supposed to be in trends, but organic, easy to wear items with interesting, cute, chic designs. I have my style muses that I usually share monthly, I get inspired from magazines, from street style, from fashion bloggers, from brands' lookbooks, from things and people that catch my eye.

Beau Bazar is a repository of fashion, perspectives, moods and ideas... as you can notice in the title. So, it's not a blog just about fashion. I usually don't post photos of myself in a narcissist way. Although, I use to take them because it helps me remind the way I used to dress, the evolution in time, the direction my style goes and also because whenever I am short in ideas of how to dress for an event or just for going to the office I take a look on these shoots.

Lately, I have received messages from you darlings asking me to post more photos of my outfits. So there they are! Please mind that they weren't taken for the purpose of making them public and please don't mind the sets and the image quality. My old I-Phone is not the best camera in the world!

Well, it's 2012! I start every year thinking and hoping to have an even better new year and so far it has happened so once again, here I am hoping that 2012 brings even better things.

My New Year's Eve Party was awesome! Great friends, wonderful location (Fratelli Club), great music, delicious cocktails... just perfect! It's not much to say about parties in general. You all know how they start and almost remember how they end, late in the morning, exhausted but euphoric.

I hope you had a great time stepping into the future and I wish you all have an amazing start of the year!

Curatenia de iarna

Suntem in plina luna a sarbatorilor, a veseliei si cadourilor! Inainte de a incepe decorarea casei, trebuie sa ne gandim mai intai la curatenie. Este foarte posibil ca la un moment dat sa ne simtim coplesite de prea multa munca, de aceea trebuie sa incercam sa facem lucrurile cu cap pentru a incerca sa fim eficiente. Si eficienta maxima trebuie sa se obtina cu cat mai putine resurse si cat mai putina energie investita.

Cu toate ca, pentru orice femeie curatenia este o pacoste, din lipsa de timp si pentru efortul depus in orele acelea care ne epuizeaza, finalitatea este cea care ne ofera cea mai mare satisfactie. O casa curata, ordonata si frumos decorata este oglinda personalitatii noastre.

Atunci cand folosesti echipamente profesionale rezultatele sunt pe masura. Karcher, producatorul German de echipamente de curatenie cu traditie de zeci de ani in domeniu, a dezvoltat gama de produse pentru acasa astfel incat curatenia sa devina nu doar usoara ci si distractiva.

Cateva sfaturi care sper sa va fie folositoare:

1. Curatati-va mochetele in mod profesional. Gandeste-te la tot nisipul si toata iarba in care ai calcat in vara ce tocmai a trecut. O mare parte din acestea se pot regasi si in covoarele tale, desi nu se vad.

Cine ar fi crezut ca Londra poate fi atat de frumoasa in anotimpul in care ploile si frigul ar trebui sa ne intinda nervii la maxim, sa ne muste obrajii si sa ne ude ghetele?! Ei bine, nu stiu daca am avut noroc pur si simplu sau am ales bine perioada, insa cele cateva zile petrecute in minunata metropola s-au dovedit a fi absolut superbe.

Zile insorite, oras captivant, prieteni minunati si multa multa pofta de plimbare au fost ingredienetele excursiei noastre scurte dar intense. Cinci zile s-au dovedit insuficiente pentru toate minunatiile care ni s-au aratat si mai ales pentru cele care au ramas in continuare mister.

Va recomand cu caldura plimbari la pas pe stradutele cochete, pe bulevardele mari si aglomerate, pe malurile Tamisei, la principalele atractii dar si in ciudatul orasel Camden Town. Mergeti la observatorul astronomic de la Geenwich unde va puteti delecta cu un show inedit de proiectii ale spatiului cosmic, la British Museum, in orice pub din Picadilly Circus sau Trafalgal Square sau la pranz la satiosul Nandos. A, si daca tot esti in Picadilly neaparat devoreaza un Cinebon! E cel mai delicios desert pe care l-ai mancat vreodata!

Involtino din piept de pui

1. Cu un cutit se taie pieptul de pui pe jumatate pe lungime fara se se desprinda una de cealalta, se bate pieptul de pui cu un ciocan de snitele pana devine o masa uniforma, se condimenteaza cu sare si piper
2. Sunca presata si mozzarele (cascaval) se taie betisoare si se pun in centrul pieptului de pui
3. Dovlecelul se taie la randul lui betisoare si se aduga pe piept, morcovul se fierbe inainte de a fi adaugat avand un puct de coacere mai indelungat dupa care se adauga la randul lui pentru culoare, cu cat mai multa culoare in mancare cu atat mai mult gust.
4. Busuiocul se rupe si se pune si el la randul lui pentru gust. Puiul se strange se face rulou cu mare grija si se prinde in scobitori se condimenteaza cu sare piper si cimbru.
5. Pe un gratar incins se aduga puiul si se da fata de gratar pe fiecare parte, se introduce in cuptor la o temperatura de 200 de grade 12 minute, se serveste cald pe farfurie taiat rondele.
6. Pofta buna

"I feel like an actress who is very fortunate to get work with continuity, to get opportunities to make a living from the job that I love so much. When I was growing up it was just about, 'Please, God, I don’t want to be locked in an office doing a job that is not creative in any way, that would make me feel like a prisoner,'" she says.

Fascinated by human behavior, Cruz says that, "Something happens that is really addictive about the investigation. It’s a beautiful thing. You can go into a different state when you are portraying somebody. I cannot say that that has happened to me in every movie, but it has happened a few times when you feel a lot of freedom and there is no self-criticism. A part of you becomes almost obsessed with that other being. That is the feeling that I look for."

Imi cer scuze pentru lipsa de posturi din ultima perioada, dar am o scuza! Am fost in vacanta! M-am recompensat cu 7 minunate zile de soare, relaxare si rasfat.

"Nu exista o alta tara care sa ascunda atatea minuni", scria Herodot cu 2400 de ani in urma. Gandindu-te la Egipt iti vin in minte locuri exotice, piramide, faraoni, comorile lui Tutankhamon si imaginea unei civilizatii de mult disparute, ale carei taine nu au fost descifrate in totalitate nici pana azi.

Un contrast de bogatie si saracie presarat cu muzica si culoare. Strazile din Cairo te impresioneaza deopotriva prin forfota aparent inutila, cladiri impresionante ce dezvolta continuu orasul cat o tara, dar si canale pline de gunoaie.

Oricat de desertica ar parea aceasta zona, ea se gaseste exact la marginea orasului Cairo, rasfatand numerosi locuitori ai urbei cu fascinante peisaje de rasarit si apus maret.

Templul Karnak, o fascinanta calatorie in timp, istorie si hieroglife egiptene.

Templul faraoanei Hacepsut, una dintre cele mai puternice femei ale imperiului, a domnit ca si faraon, ingenunchind figuri marete ale vremii sale. Templul sau se afla dincolo de Valea Regilor, incercandu-se la un moment dat comunicarea printr-un tunel dintre acest templu si mormantul sau, insa fara sorti de izbanda datorita unei roci extrem de dure.

Multi considera perioada Egiptului antic ca origine a artei moderne a bijuteriilor. In acea perioada executia de bijuterii a devenit o profesie iar tehnicile s-au dezvoltat pentru a crea o varietate de stiluri si functionalitati. Bijutierii au inceput sa foloseasca o gama larga de materiale si chiar daca maiestria era apreciata, valoarea consta in functia de protectie a bijuteriilor, ca si amulete sau talismane. Se folosea extensiv aurul, mai ales pentru ca se prelucreaza mai usor decat alte materiale.

Egiptenii traiau cu credinta ca fiecare piatra pretioasa este incarcata cu puteri mistice care se vor proiecta asupra purtatorilor. Simbolurile, ca cel al Scarabeului sacru, formau o parte semnificativa a bijuteriilor care se purtau, fapt venind si din credinta in sacraliatea simbolurilor respective.

Nu degeaba regina Cleopatra era etalonul frumusetii in lumea antica, detinatoarea unor retete secrete de frumusete bine pastrate. Astazi, chipul sau numele ei sunt asociate unor linii de produse cosmetice, bijuterii sau parfumuri. Obiectele de frumusete sunt la mare cautare printre turisti: oglinzile sunt cu totul deosebite, dar nici casetele pentru bijuterii sau sticlutele de parfumuri nu sunt mai prejos!

Prelucrarea manuala a alabastrului este unul din mestesugurile traditionale in Egipt. Uneltele folosite pentru a sculpta roca si a o slefui sunt aceleasi ca si acum sute de ani, insa rezultatul poate fi spectaculos. (ca aceasta vaza din alabastru rosiatic luminata din interior)

Pentru ca cele 7 zile au presarate nu numai cu piramide si temple, simboluri si faraoni, ci si cu minunate recifuri de corali, parasailing, plaje virgine, oameni prietenosi si festinuri culinare, va las pe voi sa explorati Egiptul cu proprii ochi si sa alegeti acele mistere si minuni care va fascineaza mai mult.

Homemade Macaroons

They are light and simple treats that can easily become an addiction. Macaroons, as it's about these irresistible desserts we are talking about, represent a savoury delight, with a soft interior and crunchy crust. Put your culinary skills to the test trying this delicious macaroons recipe and get ready to play with flavours and colors!

It is said that the first macaroons were made from almond paste and egg whites, and from here the name of the cookie which comes from an Italian word meaning 'paste', 'maccarone'. Some historians claim that macaroons have their roots in Venice, during the Renaissance, while others say that these delightful biscuits can be traced in France, back in 1533.

Still, regardless their origins, macaroons remain a mouth-watering, delicate and lovely treat that allows you to have fun while cooking. Make the most of your culinary skills by adding different colourings and flavour extracts such as chocolate, coffee, coconut or fruits. For the chocolate macaroons replace a quarter of the icing sugar with cocoa powder.

225g icing sugar

130g ground almonds

3 large egg whites, room temperature

75g superfine sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 180°C. Macaroons are great when they are made with freshly ground blanched almonds. Pulse the icing sugar and the ground almonds in a food processor until you get a powdery mixture, then sift two or three times in a bowl.

Take another bowl and whisk the egg whites until they double their size and form soft peaks. You can use an electric mixer. Next, gradually add the superfine sugar and whisk until firm peaks form. This is the perfect moment for you to color and flavour your macaroons. Pink, purple, green, yellow, red, orange, their design and taste are up to you.

Fold the almond-sugar mixture into the meringue and mix well until you obtain a smooth and shiny mixture. Take a piping bag with a centimetre-wide round tip and spoon the mixture in. Pipe 4-5cm diameter circles on a baking sheet and let them rest at room temperature for 10-15 minutes until a fine skin is formed.

Place macaroons into the oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, until they are firm and can easily be removed from the tray. Let macaroons cool. Sandwich two macaroons together using peanut butter, jam, chocolate ganache, butter cream, or a special filling that you can prepare at home.

For the filling you need 150g unsalted butter, softened, 75g icing sugar, and fruits, nuts, or different flavours. If you want you can also add colourings. Beat butter until fluffy, then gradually beat in the sugar and the rest of the ingredients.
